Is this game still active? Just curious. :)

Okay I don't know why, but on the current thread the recent posts aren't showing up for me. If you click on the very last message it will take you to the rest of the messages, but I don't understand why they aren't showing up anymore. Does anyone have a clue?

Okay! This will be brief as I have no real ideas. But I do have two points and events that we should at least touch on!

1) The memorial service. Pogue hasn't yet told Kate that Caleb's dad actually died a few weeks ago, which is going to be a sticking point. He also isn't sure the girls should be there, although he kind of wants her to come. But that'd be up to Caleb. And anyway, the boys should go.

2) Homecoming. This one's simple, do we want to send them to it or not? It'd have to be backdated, either way. Caleb brought up a good point that the Fall Fest was kind fo ruined, so they owe the girls a good night out.

I don't think Pogue would break up with Kate unless something seriously big happens. I think Kate will break up with him. Like you said, Jag, you're having a hard time seeing what would make him do this right now, so it either has to be something huge or it's probably not happening. Kate, despite being in love with Pogue, has irrational issues about lying and abandonment which stems from her mother. I have plans for Kate concerning her absentee mother which will come to a head around her birthday on Halloween or so.

As for Chase, I don't know if the player wants to have him screw around with their heads and spill the beans about Pogue's feelings for Caleb (which is what right now? Just a crush? Or is he in love with Caleb and doesn't realize it? And does he love both Caleb and Kate? Just trying to understand Pogue's psyche here. :D) or will Kate figure it out on her own by hanging around Pogue and Caleb together. She already has a suspicion that Pogue is still keeping something from her but she can't figure out what. Depends on the muses, but I could have Kate start to get jealous about all the time Pogue is spending at Caleb's (if he starts spending more and more that is) and he and she could have an argument about Caleb (who Pogue is really protective of: see argument w/ his father) and she figures it out then. So many different directions going here. Plus Sarah has to fit in and come to some conclusions on her own and Caleb, of course, needs to start realizing his feelings too. Reid and Tyler could also notice little things on their own. And Chase is the puppet master pulling all their strings. :) Yay! Complete and utter madness for all! Everyone pull up a chair.

Of course, I'm just thinking out loud here because my brain is going a mile a minute and I need to pull some of this shit out before I implode. I swear I honestly have ten different people living in my brain. Need so much therapy it's not funny...

A few characters so far have been uneasy. Like Tyler is still unsettled which is why he parked his car closer to the building in case they need a quick getaway and Caleb is still a bit jittery considering all that's happened. I was wondering, regarding Chase, would it be more realistic for all the characters to start having uneasy instances here and there--basically like foreshadowing for whenever Chase does pop back up? I'm not talking all the time because that would be overkill, but maybe a certain incident that weirds each of them out. This is depending on when Chase resurfaces, is he just gunning for the four boys or is he pissed off at the girls too?

The reason I'm asking is because I suddenly had an idea for one when Kate runs out to her car to get the gift, but I didn't want to do it unless everyone agreed.

OMG. Pogue and Kate are going to be the death of me. I am dead from cute. I really, really am.

So, anyway. The birthday party post is up, anyone have any further ideas for plot?
Do y'all think the boys were raised pagan? There wasn't anything really ritualistic in the way they called their power, clearly, and they mentioned no gods or goddesses. But to discuss important things, they met around the stone circle table in a VERY ritualistic room filled with occult books. We know that their ancestors left England due to "religious" persecution and that they at least considered themselves witches.

But my question comes in sort of as "what sort of witches?" Are they witches/wizards because of their power alone, or religion? The timeline on the official site has them helping Crowley and joining with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn--which of course is more ritual magic drawing on Western religious mystical elements, including Christianity, than any "religion" in and of itself, though Wicca and much of modern paganism draws on Crowley and the Golden Dawn for many core elements of ritual practice.

The timeline also has them heavily involved with the Masons--but then so were most of the Founding Fathers, and again, ritualistic, yes, but not necessarily pagan whatever gets screamed from right-wing pulpits.

They say in the beginning that no one knows where the power comes from, but do you think they have any legends among themselves? Any ideas/worries/traditions? The connection with the Golden Dawn and possibly further back with the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons suggests some sort of metaphysical/ritualism connection--as does the table and the library of occult books, but not necessarily paganism, as a lot of rosicrucians and masons are Christian (though clearly not right-wing. ;) )

Anyway, most of what I'm wondering is actually game/fic related and looking at Samhain and Yule coming up, and wondering if they follow the Wheel of the Year, if there are rituals the families gather to celebrate then, special things they do--or if they're just Halloween and Christmas and no big deal with their powers. Then there's just the curiosity part about what other people thought.

Kid!Caleb automatically called Christmas "Yule" in my head, and then corrected himself like he'd been told to use the other word a lot, which suggested some sort of honoring of the turning of the year, but the Covenant pre-dates organized modern paganism, and they're clearly not a formal coven in any sense of the word. *ponders*

Thoughts? Instincts? Where you see your character standing on the issue?

LMAO at "Reid's" line: But somewhere things had gotten fucked. And Reid had no idea how to un-fuck them...

That line seemed almost canon. Thanks for the chuckle and I'm so going to start using that as a new slogan or something. Hee!

Posted for Caleb and Pogue getting back into town so they could interact with their ladies if they wish. If we still want to have the boys all up at the cabin, no worries. We can just backdate--but let me know if y'all want to do that or not. :)

Things About Pogue (That I Will Leave It Up To Shady To Say Whether Or Not Kate Knows Because He Would Have Told Her If It Came Up)

* He's bisexual
* He's fooled around with boys when he was thirteen, lost his virginity at fourteen, to a girl at fifteen
* He's afraid of being left behind by Caleb goign off to college and Making Something Of Himself
* The whole 'Threat' prompt entry and the fear and uncertainty and hurt that brought up

(More as I think of it)
